The Chesapeake Knights continue to expand efforts in team and activity participation, as well as visibility and outreach in the community. We are excited to share multiple Knights players and cheerleaders, parents, and Board members volunteered to participate in the 2014 Chesapeake Jubilee celebration in May. Numerous visitors and families were welcomed into the Chesapeake Knights tent. Through “meet n’ greets”, individuals were introduced to the Knights, mission, and passion the organization has for developing well-rounded young men and women who not only learn the fundamentals of football, cheerleading and dance, but also the importance of education and giving back to the community.

The Chesapeake Knights continuously strive to make every effort to be involved with and give back to the community. Youth involved in our programs learn the importance of developing a heart for giving, fostering meaningful relationships and making a difference.
Expanding the effort to give back to the community and lend a helping hand, we were proud to support Our House Families: Restored and Renewed, a non-profit organization that serves the needy families of the City of Chesapeake and beyond, by holding the First Annual Chesapeake Knights at the season-ending reward and recognition banquet, Chesapeake Knights boys and girls collectively donated toys and gifts to kids in need through a toy drive.
In addition to underscoring the importance of giving back, the Knights place heavy emphasis on performance in the classroom by setting standards to further support a sense of responsibility and appreciation for academics and athletics. Coaches visited various schools on behalf of the Knights to present Academic Awards for students with exceptional report cards and recognize those football and cheer players who were selected 2013 Mid South Region Scholars.
And emphasis on kindness and empathy towards others, as well as academic excellence, was at the forefront of these youth lead initiatives.
"The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.”
―Ralph Waldo Emerson
